Jean-Louis Leyraud is a true veteran of rallying in New Caledonia and  the Pacific.

He has competed on the full APRC in 2002 and for 2008 entered the Pacific Cup, finishing 3rd behind Herridge and Taguchi. Leyraud is planning a full Asia Pacific Rally Championship campaign in 2009, supported by Possum Bourne Motorsport.

He will be hard to beat in New Caledonia where he has vast experience and memory for the very tricky crests and corners on this event.
