The 2011 Asia Pacific Rally Championship was one of the best in many years, the competition intense and the drivers and manufacturers title, only decided at the final round.

As it turned out Proton Malaysia won everything but it wasn’t an easy road. Along the way there was been plenty of disappointment and heart-break for the team, but everything came together almost perfectly in China.

Proton did not have it all their own way as the Mitsubishi teams of MRF Tyres, Cusco-Pertamina and SouEast Motor Kumho hounded them all the way.

Behind the powerful four-wheel drive cars was a new battle in 2011 -  the Two-wheel drive and Junior Cup. There were two main players in this class, former APRC champion Karamjit Singh making a return to the series, and rising star and Proton-usco team-mate Akira Bamba from Japan.

The Asia and Pacific Cups were both hotly contested with over twenty drivers registered in the Pacific Cup.
